My good friend, Violette Bule, asked me to take her photo to be used in her upcoming newspaper interview. Violette is a Venezuelan photographer with international projection. I felt honored by the request, as it denotes the mutual admiration and respect for our respective work.
A portrait photograph has the immense responsibility to capture the inner essence of the subject, and I don’t take that challenge lightly. Moreover, when the project involves a fellow artist the enterprise becomes much more rewarding and exciting.
Labeling the photographic session as fun, is a huge understatement. Violette is inherently a provocateur. Her wit and charm go beyond the contour of her face, and her personality overtakes the frame effortlessly. My ultimate intention was to create a portrait capable to encapsulate her extraordinary creative mind.
