About

“Photography is the art of being able to discover myself in the eyes of others. When I am creating an image, I do it instinctively.

I am attracted to the basic and fundamental concepts of human existence such as life, death, and love. Like the Existentialists, for me, daily life prevails over abstract reasoning.

In the creative process, I seek to merge artistic concepts towards a contemporary understanding.  Timeless ways in the form of a subjective experience.  Facing my fears and fantasies - these are the ideas that motivate me.  I like to convert my imagination into stories with images.

For me photography was always a familiar place.  I vividly recall the first time I saw the image slowly appearing in my developing tray. That magic awakened my imagination then, and still does today.

Alberto Sisso is a fine art photographer based in Southern Florida.  Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he grew up in the medium assisting his father in the family photography business from a young age.  At thirteen Alberto put together his own dark room in the back of his father’s shop. That early schooling in toning and analog processing continues to inform his craft.

Over nearly four decades, Alberto’s creative curiosities have taken him to many corners of the world.  His vast portfolio serves as evidence to these many miles.  Alberto’s work is recognized widely for his unique ability to capture, globally, both the opera of a city and the poetry of a gesture.  Photographing in both black and white and color, his point of focus continues to incline towards the soul of the moment, giving his images a rich timeless quality.

Alberto has studied under the guidance of the renowned photographer and filmmaker Joaquín Cortés, among other masters in the field.  In addition, his images have been recognized internationally through numerous awards and exhibits.
