Chronos
Man can do what he wills, but he cannot will what he wills
Arthur Schopenhauer
The mysteries of time… who holds the answer? Solves for turning the clock back are studied and plotted, yet still its decipher eludes. Chronos probes the footprints left by time. Using the camera’s vocabulary to produce sharp details, high contrasts, and rich tonalities, my intention with this series of images is to reveal time’s constant transformation of spaces and objects and places, and the inevitable decay of its weight.
Chronos invites the viewer to explore their personal sense of acceptance of maturation and its signature. One can choose to be saddened by what is not there anymore, or to rejoice in the beautiful new lines and shadows and timeless qualities that arise as a result of age. My path is the latter.
Where our journey will take us...
Would be still make the same decisions? Or would choose a different path?
Could we even escape our fate? Or would what is deep within us.
Lead us to the same end, like an invisible hand?
Does it matter witch path we choose if we end up facing ourselves again and again?
