I recently had the opportunity to attend the launch of the revised version of the book: Fotografiando en America Latina. Ensayos de Crítica Histórica, by Jose Antonio Navarrete. This volume is a brilliant compendium of the history of photography in Latin America. Navarrete vast knowledge in the area makes this book a mandatory reference in the subject. It is an invitation to reflect on how far we have gone in the region, and the trend to come. As Navarrete himself expressed, this kind of initiative can only be achieve with the collaboration of photographers and enthusiast all over the continent.
