CamFive Laser Co2 Cutter Engraver

I am usually a conservative when it comes to photography. I take great consideration in carefully selecting the right paper, as well as printing quality and size of the final product. Nonetheless, lately I have found myself enjoying the experimentation with different materials and techniques. Such was the case of engraving some of my pictures in wood and plexiglas. For that process I used a CamFive Laser Co2 Cutter Engraver Machine Industrial design, model CMA4032K. The results were fascinating, but the process was even more mesmerizing. It all started with a careful selection of the best pictures to experiment with, deciding on the ones with high contrast of light and shadow. Then, the simple process of electronically conveying the information to the laser cutter device. And lastly, the magic of watching it perform a seamless rendition of the photographs. The experience was enhanced by the smell of burned wood and the warmth of a recently created product. While patiently waiting for the job to be completed, my creative mind started to wander in all different directions, pondering on the endless possibilities and the next new challenges. Special thanks to my friend and fellow artist Linda Behar, whom kindly shared with me her knowledge and passion for the art of engraving.
